Short and Sweet

With the Labor Day holiday weekend, we’ve now had two short and sweet weeks in a row.   We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Auburn.  The festival on Friday evening in downtown Auburn was a good time.  Besides the beautiful Auburns, Cords, and Duesenbergs, there were hot rods, classics, muscle cars…a little something for everyone.  It was hot and sunny Friday and Saturday, with rain and cooler temps on Sunday.  Thank goodness our golf cart had a roof!  We loved cruising through the swap meet to see what we could find.  There were a few bimmers for sale in the car corral.  And no, we did not purchase any of them!

In addition to showing the Baur at Carmel Artomobilia, this beauty will also be featured.   The 1983 BMW 320is – the all original one with an amazing interior and working A/C.  She’s been in our shop since leaving her garage storage after 20 years.   Read a little more here and here.  The owner had considered doing some intense modifications to his bimmer, but after further consideration has decided to keep her all stock for now.  She’s almost ready to get back on the road, and will certainly draw a crowd at Carmel Artomobilia this weekend!

A little cleaning and polishing is in order…she’s going to look so good!

Also in the shop this week, was a 2002 BMW 525i.  She got a new water pump, a brake fluid flush, and oil change.

Remember the pretty 1992 BMW 325i cabrio in a few weeks ago for a custom antenna switch and some slight front end lowering?  I had yet to post her “after” photos.  This week she got new front strut mounts and new rear shock mounts.  The owner couldn’t be happier with the stance of his favorite cabrio!
