A Look at the Swap Meet + A Pristine e30!

Happy Friday!  We're back after a short break due to some recent traveling, more on that to come soon! Speaking of traveling, our 8th annual road trip to North Carolina for The Vintage is coming up next week!  We look forward to this event each and every year!  Last year, it was held in a new venue, in Hot Springs, NC, a fun and spirited drive north of Asheville.  (See our posts from 2016 here and here!)  We look forward to seeing new and old friends along with all of the awesome cars that will be in attendance!  Note: After looking at the website for the event, I learned it is officially SOLD OUT!  650 cars have registered!  Wow!  Way to go, Scott!!!

A few weeks ago, we hosted the Swap Meet presented by Hoosier BMW, and it was a fantastic event!  The weather cooperated and allowed the attendees to be outside and to enjoy the sunshine!  A big thank you to everyone who attended from near and far!  And a roaring round of applause for all of the volunteers from Hoosier BMW as well as from the RMW crew who's hard work made this day so fun and enjoyable!

Emerson had fun walking around, while Remington made a new friend — sweet pup, Enzo!

If you attended the Swap Meet, you may have seen the pristine e30, a diamond schwarz metallic 1985 325e with Taurusrot interior, that was inside the shop!  If not, please feel free to admire it now!  This 40,000 miles on the clock bimmer has never seen rain, and is in immaculate condition!  Her current owner just purchased her from her original owner in Tennessee where she'd been stored inside and not started in the past 6 years or so.

So the car was pushed out of garage in Tennessee onto a trailer and was pushed off the trailer into our shop to ensure no damage was done by starting the engine after sitting for so long. We installed an updated camshaft gear sprocket and intermediate gear sprocket, replaced the timing belt and tensioner, oil seals, water pump, thermostat, any gaskets that showed signs of leaking, drive belts, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, any cracked or dry-rotted rubber hoses, the battery, alternator bushings, engine air filter, added a fuel system treatment and changed all fluids including the oil & filter, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid and differential fluid. And before driving it, we installed brand new tires and performed an alignment. She started right up and purrs like a new motor!

Isn't that one amazing piece of BMW history?!  I'd say so!  With that, cheers and happy weekend to you all!  We'd like to wish a Happy Mother's Day weekend to all Moms, both here and in our hearts!
