A Look at Vintage Fest

The beautiful weather we’ve been fortunate to have followed us up north of Chicago to Vernon Hills.  What a great event by Windy City BMWCCA!  A big thank you to Kent Hoffman, we appreciate all of your help and support, and we were happy to be a part of such a successful event!  Thank you for the invitation!  Twenty-five, yes, 25 2002’s were present, 22 e30’s (our Baur and Sean’s cabrio), along with other vintage and modern BMW’s.  Even some beamer motorcycles made a showing.  To view the full gallery, click here!
We had everything loaded on the truck and trailer on Friday so we’d be all set to leave early Saturday morning.

So many cool 2002’s!

Reggie enjoyed meeting and talking to fellow enthusiasts and customers.  Our Leatherique demo was quite effective, those of you that saw the Before and After black seats from that convertible, know what I’m talking about!  Yes, it’s true, those seats came out of the same 1988 325i cabrio just a week before!  A few little treatments with Leatherique, and the driver’s seat looks and feels like new.

We met the original and only owner of this much talked about e30 M3……what a detailed car – Hi Larry!

Who can resist the Mini?

Indianapolis had a nice presence at this event. Ben Younce drove up in his 1602, along with Larry Wilson in his ’02. They were joined by yet another ’02 from Ohio!

This 2000 CS won Best “Vintage” and Best of Show, and deservedly so!  Congratulations!  The photo does not do it proper justice. The interior was immaculate and beautiful as well.  It was so cool to see how much time and effort these owners put into their vehicles, worth every penny!

This 2002….or M2 (yes, it has an S14 drivetrain from an e30 M3) won best 2002. What a BEAUTIFUL car.

We weren’t the only Baur TC there…this more “mature” one was positioned right across from our tent!

We met, Cindy, the owner of this beautiful 2002.  She has a few of them, and just loves these cars!

We were proud to offer some cool Reggie’s Motorworks T-shirts, thanks to Enthusiast Apparel.  We also demonstrated Leatherique.  As one customer and fellow enthusiast stated, “It’s some good Snake Oil…but it really works!”

A big thank you to our good friend, Nick, for all of his help!  We truly appreciate it!

Oh, and you may wonder what happened to Reggie’s left thumb…Remember that tire machine we talked about last week?  Well, let’s just say there’s one heavy metal arm on that thing, and it landed on Reggie’s thumb.  He has a tuft fracture…ouch!  I would post a picture, but I get nauseous just thinking about what it looks like, so I’ll spare you the details.  In all seriousness, he is healing well, thank goodness!
