Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Happy Friday!  It’s the start of a holiday weekend, and what would be more fun than starting it off by joining us tonight for the Cruise-In?  Drive on in starting at 6pm!
Since Labor Day Weekend usually means cookouts with friends and family, celebrating the end of summer, and car shows, I thought we’d do just that…talk about car shows!  Last Saturday in downtown Carmel, Hoosier BMW proudly represented by having the largest car corral present with 22 cars at Carmel Artomobilia!  GO BMW!   Thanks to Ben for putting this great event together, and thanks to the Hoosier BMW Chapter for such a wonderful turn out!  Despite the heat, everyone had a fun time!

Since it was so warm out and Reggie and I are just 18 days away from the expected arrival of our little one, I stayed in the shade as much as possible!  I handed the camera over to Reggie – he captured some awesome images of this event!  Here are some of my favorites, plus a slideshow with his entire gallery of images!

The immaculate 1985 BMW 735i in our corral had a mere 7,800 miles on it – it was a sight to see!  Amazing interior, amazing paint, and even more amazing was under the bonnet…a Callaway turbo kit!  This bimmer will be in attendance at Hoosier BMW’s Vintage Car Show on Saturday, September 8th at Eagle Creek.  More on this event in a moment!

Next weekend is the Hoosier BMW Chapter’s New Member Picnic and Vintage Car Show!  We’ve got a great turn out tallied up so far.  This event will take place at Eagle Creek Park at Lilly Lake Shelter.  Bring your vintage (20 years or older – e30/e24 – if you’re lucky enough to own one! – e23/e28 or older and show it off!  Don’t worry, you can still bring your new car, but we’ll just ask you to park “over there.”  To participate in the car show, please email Reggie at reggie@reggiesmotorworks.com.  The event starts at 11am, with lunch served between 11-12:30.  Cost is $5 per vehicle “park entrance fee.”

If you’re looking for a car show to attend this weekend, you’re in luck!  The Auburn Fall Collector Car Auction takes place in historic Auburn all weekend – get all the details here!  Car corrals, food, vendors, and a swap meet!  The Batmobile will be on display, Bobby Unser will be out and about giving autographs, and if you watch Storage Wars on A&E, the eclectic collector Barry Weiss will be there as a celebrity auctioneer and to meet and greet fans on Saturday and Sunday!
