How To Get More MPGs

Happy April! We have had some fantastic weather this week…finally!  We’re crossing our fingers that it sticks around!  Remington and I visited the shop this week and had a fun time seeing all the bimmers as well as some cool demonstrations on some new products and services we’re offering now – more on this in a minute!  Here’s a little hint: more mpg’s!

Reggie worked on a power sunroof conversion for this ’91 325i and installed a maplight mirror:

This stunning 2007 BMW 650i came in with a traction control light on.  After some diagnostics, it was determined that she needed a new SZL module, also known as a switch unit steering module.  The steering angle sensor had gone bad within the module, which contains several sensors.

Don’t you just love the barberot metallic paint?

And now for some exciting stuff!  Rick from BG came in to demonstrate a fuel service.  While the fuel service ran its course, Rick also gave us some insight into the chemistry of fuel and what additives are on the market and just how effective they really are…or aren’t.  We used Nick’s Saab for the demonstration.  Let’s take a look!

See all the black stuff around the inside of the throttle body?   The fuel service that’s about to be performed will eliminate that within 15 minutes:

Now that is a clean throttle body!  This fuel service will improve your mileage…and who wouldn’t want that?!  For more info and to schedule a fuel service for your beloved bimmer, just give Nick a call at 317.773.0074!

Rick also brought in some pizza for lunch!  Thank you, Rick!  We hope to have Rick come back soon for more demonstrations, so stay tuned for more information!

If you follow us on Facebook, you may have seen that we do a weekly parts quiz on Fridays.  Well, this next bit isn’t for the parts quiz, however, I think it may have been a good one!  Can you name this part?

Oh wait, that isn’t a BMW part…it’s the gizmo used to unlock a car!  The owner of this e36 had noticed some window noise on the passenger side, not to mention that the window would not go up or down.  Once the door panel was removed, that’s what was found!  Wow!  A coolant leak was also diagnosed on the 1995 BMW 325i cabrio.
