Happy Friday! We’re off to attend one of our favorite car/BMW events around! The Vintage in North Carolina! Check out our post from a few weeks ago for links and photos to our past two trips… and put it on your calendar for next year! Speaking of calendars, don’t forget about our Annual Open House on Saturday, June 16th! Then join us on Sunday, June 17th, for the car show in Forest Park!
This week we’ve been busy working on bimmers and preparing the Baur for our road trip! Let’s take a quick look at some of the cars that have been in the shop this week!
A check engine light brought this 1998 BMW 740il into the shop. She also had a brake light issue, as well as some noise in the steering. Valve cover gaskets were in need of replacement, and she got an oil change too.
You may be able to see some of the sludge that was in the engine:
Here’s a little closer look:
This 1987 Mercedes 560SL came in for a pre-purchase inspection. What a sharp car! She drives very well! From the sound of things, it seems this beauty has a new owner! And we’ve known the new owner for years, he is a car guy through and through. This is his first German car! There’s no turning back now, Rick! 😉
Speaking of sharp cars, this 2006 BMW 530i came in for new rear brake pads and brake pad sensors:
An oil change was on order for this 1991 BMW 325i cabrio. What perfect cabrio weather we’ve had lately!
We have to give a huge thank you and shout out to our friend, Doug, who has helped us tremendously with this project. He had one of these very same cars years ago, and seeing and working on this one brought back a lot of memories for him! Doug, thank you so much for all of your help! We appreciate it! Earlier this week, while I was out of the shop, Reggie and Sam lowered the engine into the 1969 Camaro! YESSSSSS!!!!!
Now that the engine was in place, it was the transmission’s turn for a little attention!
A cool view of that Chevy Orange engine:
With the transmission in place, the drive shaft has been sent off for modification. Once the driveshaft gets back to the shop, we’re that much closer to getting this hot Camaro back on the road! I call dibs on the first joy ride! 😉
