Off to the Races + Some Fresh Paint

Welcome back to another Friday edition of the blog!  Last week, the guys had the day off to check out the GrandAm races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  And Reggie, Remington, and I were traveling.  The shop has kept busy as usual, so let’s get right to it!  First up, a few announcements.
Reggie’s Motorworks was mentioned in this IBJ article.  Check it out here!  **Note:  Unfortunately, this article is no longer available, unless you are an IBJ subscriber.  Sorry for the inconvenience!**

Yesterday was John’s birthday – Happy Birthday, John!  We are so thankful to have you on our team here at Reggie’s Motorworks!  We hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Mark your calendars for the Hoosier Vintage with Hoosier BMW on Saturday, September 14th at Eagle Creek Park!  This event coincides with the Club’s New Member Picnic.  Last year we had a fantastic turnout for the vintage car show, and we’re hoping to rock it out again this year!  If you want more vintage bimmer goodness, join the caravan to Windy City BMW’s VintageFest the following day!  Stay tuned for more details!

Ok, who’s ready for some cars?  Me too!

If you follow along on Facebook, you’ve seen some interesting happenings pop up in your newsfeed lately!  Such as the engine removal from our family car!

Reggie removed it the week before last, and will be replacing it with an S52 B32 out of a ’97/’98 M3.  He has actually been wanting to do this for quite a while, and suddenly the opportunity presented itself!  Funny how things work out like that!  Here’s the engine bay after being power washed:

The former engine, the M50, will make its new home in this 1994 BMW 325i:

And this is the beauty that will go in the 1995 BMW 525i, along with a chip, intake, and headers:

After reassembly, it will be time to install the graphics!  Then she’ll be ready to run the track in style!  Yessss!

This 2000 BMW 528i, a 5-speed wagon in Alpinweiss III, came in to have some noise diagnosed.  Brandon performed the BMW 100k mile maintenance, including replacing the transmission filter , transmission fluid, and spark plugs.  A differential fluid service and brake fluid flush were also on the list.

We’ll be back next week with more, including photos from the guys’ trip to IMS for the GrandAm races!

Have a great weekend!
