Happy Friday to you! We’ve had a great week here at Reggie’s Motorworks!
Reggie wrapped up work on the 2005 Mini Cooper. Let’s take a closer look. The front piece was prepped for paint.
Reggie mixed up the paint to ensure a nice, even coat. Once mixed, the paint is poured through a filter.
Applying the Chili Red
Once the paint flashes, it’s ready for the clearcoat.
Once the piece dried, Reggie did some wet-sanding and buffing.
And this Mini Cooper looks and drives like new again!
We also finished preparing our friend “Way Fast Whitey” for the “Rites ‘O Spring” Driving school hosted by our own Hoosier Chapter BMW CCA.
The Racetech seat was awaiting some custom spacers so it could be fastened to the factory seat mount locations. Here are the spacers that a local machinist whipped up for us. They are made to specifications provided by Racetech for the safest possible fitment. We just needed 10mm on either side of the seat to get the Racetech brackets spaced perfectly for the factory mounts.
Here is the seat installed and ready to go. Sean will definitely stay put better in this than the ratty worn out sport seat that used to support him. The level of safety will be greatly improved as well!
If you are in the Cloverdale/Greensburg, Indiana area this weekend, stop on by and say hi! The Hoosier BMW guys are all very friendly, and welcome spectators (there’s no fee to come watch either:))!
Hopefully our Friday Night Cruise in will not get rained out tonight, but it looks like the rain is coming through right about that time…..Steph and I will be there for dinner regardless, so if you’re in the area stop on by!
Have a great weekend
