Happy Friday! I’ve been excited to work on this blog post! It’s a rainy day today, however, much less rainy than last Friday! We kept our fingers crossed for good weather last Saturday, and did we get lucky! It was an absolutely beautiful day for the Hoosier BMW CCA New Member Picnic and Vintage Car Show! Blue skies, white clouds, and temperatures that let us know that fall is just around the bend. It was wonderful! And speaking of wonderful, we had a fabulous turnout for the event! Over 70 attendees were present, there was plenty of great food – thanks to Chef Rick and everyone who brought side dishes. We had 23 registered cars for the Vintage Car Show…it looks like we will definitely need a bigger space for next year’s show! Here are some favorites as well as a slideshow from the day! If you follow us on Facebook, all the images will be there, so you can take a closer look as well as tag your bimmer!
A huge thank you goes out to De Fouw BMW for sponsoring all of these awesome prizes – golf balls, umbrellas, keychains, model car, and kiddie BMW. As prizes were being awarded, one of our sweet customers picked out that cute blue kids BMW and promptly walked over and presented it to me! It was beyond thoughtful and so generous, I almost cried! Thank you, Kim, for the sweet gesture! By the way, Kim also makes the most amazing gourmet cupcakes! 🙂
And congratulations to all of our winners! Best of Show-Stock went to the beautiful 7-series, along with Best Interior!
Best of Show-Modified went to one of our favorite projects, which you may remember from last year, the Sweet S50 Swap!
Best Project in Progress went to this bimmer, an e30 M3 with S50 swap, which drew tons of attention all day long:
Best Paint was awarded to this beautiful 1992 BMW 325ic:
And Farthest Travel went to this proud bimmer enthusiast from the Windy City:
Again, a big thank you to all who registered their bimmers and participated in this event! We’re already looking forward to next year! Here’s a slideshow of the entire gallery from the event, enjoy!
I visited the shop this week to find the guys working on some projects. Let’s take a quick look!
Sam replaced the valve cover gasket and pinion seal on this 2007 BMW 335i:
Meanwhile, John diagnosed electrical issues and replaced the blower motor on this 1994 BMW 530i:
See this IHKR? And the green residue inside? This part was getting filled up with water, causing a draw on the bimmer’s battery.
This VW Jetta got new trailing arm bushings, rear springs, and a new front tie rod end:
And this 1985 Porsche 944 was outfitted with a new timing belt and water pump:
That’s all the time we’ve got for this week! Tonight’s Cruise-In will be weather-permitting. And we’ll keep you posted as Baby Stewart is due on Tuesday, September 18th! Thank you to all of our customers for your kind thoughts and well wishes as we await our first little BMW enthusiast! 😉
Have a wonderful weekend!
