Happy Friday, Internet! It’s been another warm week! For us, lemonade is the perfect summer time refreshment. For bimmers, it’s a new paint job, a new interior, a new set of wheels, whatever the case may be. Speaking of paint, the 1989 BMW 325ix is almost ready! Jason is on vacation this week, so Reggie and Jordan have kept things hopping in the shop. They have been prepping the e30 by removing any trim, mouldings, and other bits before sending her on to the paint shop.
Reggie sands areas on the deck lid just to make the painter’s job that much easier. This bimmer’s spoiler was removed and will be painted along with the rest of the car.
Remember this 1987 BMW 325? The one with extensive rust removal and body work? The one that had a new interior installed? The one with some newly painted panels? The one the happy owner picked up mid-May?
Present state:
Just over a month of having his beloved e30 back on the road, the owner was hit by another car. So back to Reggie’s Motorworks she came! She’s been waiting patiently here for a few weeks, since insurance claims and paperwork had to navigate the treacherous waters surrounding vintage vehicles. Luckily, it’s a go for repairs!
The front passenger side fender took the brunt of the impact. However, the front suspension will need to be replaced. As well as the bent wheel. Additionally, the frame needs to be aligned. Needless to say, the front fender will be replaced and painted to match, along with the front bumper and valance.
As for refreshment for the 1968 BMW 2002 in the shop, she got a new, sporty suspension. Wait! There’s more in store for this vintage beauty!
A new factory re-built engine with only 5k miles is just waiting to be installed!
Before the new engine can be installed, the old one needs to come out, right?
Reggie takes pride in the fact that he keeps the customer in the loop throughout the process while their bimmer is in the shop. Here he takes a quick photo to send to the owner, and to
have on hand as a frame of reference during reassembly.
That’s all for now! Just a reminder that tonight is our Cruise-In! Please feel free to bring something to cook on our grill, your favorite beverages, and a chair! We look forward to seeing you!
Have a great weekend!
