Happy Friday, friends! We’re hoping for good weather for a Cruise-In tonight! Speaking of weather, keep your fingers crossed for Saturday’s forecast! The Swap Meet will take place tomorrow rain or shine, Saturday, April 28th, from 9am-2pm, in partnership with Hoosier BMW CCA! If you’d like to drop off some items tonight during the Cruise-In, please feel free to do so. If it does rain tomorrow, we have 3600 square feet of indoor space to utilize, and it will be first come, first serve.
This orient blue metallic 2000 BMW 528i 5-speed came to the shop with a power steering leak. While she was here, the idler pulley started squealing, so that was replaced as well.
Sam keeps on moving on the 2001 BMW X5 4.4L…as you may recall from last week, this bimmer had quite a list of work to be done!
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is finally in the spotlight here at the shop! As you may have seen yesterday on Facebook, the engine was pulled, making room for the newly painted one!
One last look at the engine bay before the work begins:
Meanwhile, the new engine waits on the sidelines for a fresh coat of Chevy Orange paint:
After brushing on a bit of the paint, Reggie knew spraying it would be the best route…and in just a few minutes, you’ll see why!
Bright and shiny paint! This is going to look SO good in that engine bay!
While the paint cures, Reggie gets a hand from Nick and Sam to remove the hood and store it in a safe place:
Before removing the old engine, Reggie drains any fluids and disconnects hoses and other bits:
Bolts and parts are bagged and labeled for easy re-installation later:
Next, Reggie hooks up the heavy duty chain and gets ready to pull the engine:
The replacement engine sits pretty, paitently waiting:
Brackets and other bits have been sent off for powder coating. Once they get back, this empty engine bay will welcome its new resident!
Don’t forget about the Cruise-In tonight and the Swap Meet tomorrow! We’re looking forward to a fun time!
Have a fantastic weekend!
