Wow, we have crammed a lot of different things into one week.
First, I want to point out that we have emptied our eBay store. We still have about 60 active listings going, but most everything has been pulled down. NOT TOO WORRY! We aren’t going anywhere. We just feel like doing some remodeling on the web. We’ll most likely be putting everything back in the eBay store. If we find a better alternative, we’ll announce it both here and in our email marketing list (if you haven’t signed up, you can do so HERE).
In the meantime, just give us a call or shoot us an email with your needs. I’m willing to wheel and deal on prices, as we need to make space for LOTS of incoming parts cars!
Next, I am going to publicly state that I am going to try to update this blog more often, AND start using my Twitter account to keep everyone in the loop with what we have going on in the shop. Here is a link to RMW on Twitter! (Our user name is simply ReggiesMW)
Now, for my “stories”!
I have personally had some real ups and downs with personal transport in the last week or so.
I finally got my 1980 Volvo Wagon (AKA Puff the Magic Wagon…..or The Shop Truck) back on the road after a head gasket failure back in August. Now I have a leaking heater core (requiring entire dash removal), a leaking fuel pressure regulator which may have lead to a destroyed catalytic converter…..and the engine harness needs to be refurbed/replaced. In other words, it’s a project. I already have a ’69 2002 project that I barely have time for, and this dang Volvo is hogging that time…..so it’s gotta go. Fo’ sale. (Sorry about the photos, Stephanie is really the gifted one with the camera:)
Of course, I just acquired a 1983 Volvo Turbo 240 wagon as a parts vehicle for my green machine. It is still a parts wagon, and we are going to break it down just like we do BMW’s. If you have a Vovo 240/245 wagon and want parts….I got ’em. If you want to buy my Volvo 245 wagon(s) make me an offer!!
I did get to spend a little bit of time on my little ’02 this week. I sorted interior bits and made decisions on what to keep and what to sell on. I also stripped the upper belt trim and compiled a full set to keep/restore.
Since I’m pretty set on writing off the wagon, I now need winter transport. My first inclination was to throw a head on this old 320+K miler of a 325is that recently made its way into our shop. My first 5-speed e30 was a Bronzit ’87 325is, so I have a soft spot for this car……Unfortunately the car has a few soft spots of its own. After some prodding with a screwdriver, the gas pedal was hanging through the floor. Sorry, broken t-belt + rusty floors + non-existant subframe bushings = parts car. I’ll say it again, I have 1 project, 2 is too many.
I am watching a couple of my guys rip that sad old car apart piece by piece as I am typing this (carefully of course). The good news is, all of these parts are ready to be cleaned and shipped to your door!
