We’re Moving!

Happy Friday!  If you’re a subscriber to our mailing list, a fan on facebook, or a follower on twitter, you heard our Big Announcement… We’re moving!  We’re very excited about the opportunity to better serve our wonderful customers!  And although we’re moving next week, we’re still wrenching on bimmers and keeping things moving right along!  Stay tuned for news and photos of the new shop!  We would also like to say thank you to everyone who has offered to help with the move in one way or another – we really appreciate your thoughtfulness and generosity!   We have a team of professional movers with heavy duty equipment to move our heavy duty equipment, parts, shelving, etc.  Thanks again!
Last week we mentioned Carmel Artomobilia.  What a cool event!  We had fantastic weather.  What about the cars?  Oh, my goodness!  The cars were amazing!   We had the Baur and the resurrected 1983 BMW 320is on display with the Hoosier BMW CCA chapter along Rangeline Road in Carmel, right across from about 6 DeLoreans!   We didn’t even get to see all of the cars that were displayed along Main Street to be judged.  We met some new bimmer enthusiasts and crossed paths with some of our customers.  It was such a fun, relaxing day!  Lucy was along for the ride and met several sweet dogs, including Luke, a boxer.   Watch our slideshow and take a look at some cars and some of Lucy’s new friends!

Of all the cars that we saw at the event, Reggie’s favorite was the 1951 Mercury:

We had a very nice Hellrot 1998 BMW 323is in to the shop for some body work and paint, as well as to have a set of M3 mirrors painted to match the car.  What happened?  Well, there was quite a mishap on the track at a drive-thru car wash when damage was done to the front bumper and to the deck lid and she was hit in the front and the back.    In the photo below, Jason is installing the newly painted M3 mirrors.   Some preventative maintenance was done on the bimmer while she was here too, including a new water pump, thermostat, expansion tank, radiator, tie rod ends, and an alignment.

Also in the shop this week, this 5-speed 1983 BMW 533i.   Besides checking fluids and generally inspecting the bimmer, her shift linkage was repaired and belts were tightened, as well as an oil change.

Notice the TRX metric tires!  Very rare!

Overall, this bimmer is in fine shape!

And Jason has been finishing up the final bits of work on the 1983 BMW 320is. As we mentioned last week, the owner has decided to keep her stock… for now!  On the to-do list:

  • Cat converter
  • Alignment
  • Hazard switch
  • Seat belt light
  • Fuel sending unit
  • Lubricate hinges
  • Fan shroud
  • Cruise control
  • Hvac
  • Alternator bushing
  • Intake boot
  • Rear defrost
  • Glove box straps
